大衛吩咐聚集住以色列地的外邦人、從其中派石匠鑿石頭、要建造　神的殿。

Then David said, "The house of the LORD God is to be here, and also the altar of burnt offering for Israel."

大衛豫備許多鐵、作門上的釘子和鉤子．又豫備許多銅、多得無法可稱．

So David gave orders to assemble the aliens living in Israel, and from among them he appointed stonecutters to prepare dressed stone for building the house of God.

又豫備無數的香柏木．因為西頓人和推羅人、給大衛運了許多香柏木來。

He provided a large amount of iron to make nails for the doors of the gateways and for the fittings, and more bronze than could be weighed.

大衛說、我兒子所羅門、還年幼嬌嫩、要為耶和華建造的殿宇、必須高大輝煌、使名譽榮耀、傳遍萬國．所以我要為殿豫備材料。於是大衛在未死之先豫備的材料甚多。

He also provided more cedar logs than could be counted, for the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought large numbers of them to David.

大衛召了他兒子所羅門來、囑咐他給耶和華以色列的　神建造殿宇．

David said, "My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the LORD should be of great magnificence and fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for it." So David made extensive preparations before his death.

對所羅門說、我兒阿、我心裡本想為耶和華我　神的名建造殿宇。

Then he called for his son Solomon and charged him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel.

只是耶和華的話臨到我、說、你流了多人的血、打了多次大仗．你不可為我的名建造殿宇、因為你在我眼前使多人的血流在地上。

David said to Solomon: "My son, I had it in my heart to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God.

你要生一個兒子．他必作太平的人．我必使他安靜、不被四圍的仇敵擾亂．他的名要叫所羅門．〔即太平之意〕他在位的日子、我必使以色列人平安康泰。

But this word of the LORD came to me: 'You have shed much blood and have fought many wars. You are not to build a house for my Name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight.

他必為我的名建造殿宇．他要作我的子、我要作他的父．他作以色列王、我必堅定他的國位、直到永遠。

But you will have a son who will be a man of peace and rest, and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. His name will be Solomon, and I will grant Israel peace and quiet during his reign.

我兒阿、現今願耶和華與你同在、使你亨通、照他指著你說的話、建造耶和華你　神的殿。

He is the one who will build a house for my Name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.'

但願耶和華賜你聰明智慧、好治理以色列國、遵行耶和華你　神的律法。

"Now, my son, the LORD be with you, and may you have success and build the house of the LORD your God, as he said you would.

你若謹守遵行耶和華藉摩西吩咐以色列的律例典章、就得亨通．你當剛強壯膽、不要懼怕、也不要驚惶。

May the LORD give you discretion and understanding when he puts you in command over Israel, so that you may keep the law of the LORD your God.

我在困難之中為耶和華的殿豫備了金子十萬他連得、銀子一百萬他連得、銅和鐵、多得無法可稱．我也豫備了木頭、石頭、你還可以增添。

Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.

你有許多匠人、就是石匠、木匠、和一切能作各樣工的巧匠．

"I have taken great pains to provide for the temple of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, quantities of bronze and iron too great to be weighed, and wood and stone. And you may add to them.

並有無數的金、銀、銅、鐵。你當起來辦事．願耶和華與你同在。

You have many workmen: stonecutters, masons and carpenters, as well as men skilled in every kind of work

大衛又吩咐以色列的眾首領幫助他兒子所羅門、說、

in gold and silver, bronze and iron--craftsmen beyond number. Now begin the work, and the LORD be with you."

耶和華你們的　神不是與你們同在麼．不是叫你們四圍都平安麼．因他已將這地的居民交在我手中．這地就在耶和華與他百姓面前制伏了。

Then David ordered all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon.

現在你們應當立定心意、尋求耶和華你們的　神．也當起來建造耶和華　神的聖所、好將耶和華的約櫃、和供奉　神的聖器皿、都搬進為耶和華名建造的殿裡。

He said to them, "Is not the LORD your God with you? And has he not granted you rest on every side? For he has handed the inhabitants of the land over to me, and the land is subject to the LORD and to his people.
