1 | 回答柔和,使怒消退。言语暴戾,触动怒气。 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. | ||
2 | 智慧人的舌,善发知识。愚昧人的口,吐出愚昧。 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly. | ||
3 | 耶和华的眼目,无处不在。恶人善人,他都鉴察。 The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good. | ||
4 | 温良的舌,是生命树。乖谬的嘴,使人心碎。 The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. | ||
5 | 愚妄人藐视父亲的管教。领受责备的,得着见识。 A fool spurns his father's discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence. | ||
6 | 义人家中,多有财宝。恶人得利,反受扰害。 The house of the righteous contains great treasure, but the income of the wicked brings them trouble. | ||
7 | 智慧人的嘴,播扬知识。愚昧人的心,并不如此。 The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so the hearts of fools. | ||
8 | 恶人献祭,为耶和华所憎恶。正直人祈祷,为他所喜悦。 The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him. | ||
9 | 恶人的道路,为耶和华所憎恶。追求公义的,为他所喜爱。 The LORD detests the way of the wicked but he loves those who pursue righteousness. | ||
10 | 舍弃正路的,必受严刑。恨恶责备的,必致死亡。 Stern discipline awaits him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die. | ||
11 | 阴间和灭亡,尚在耶和华眼前,何况世人的心呢? Death and Destruction lie open before the LORD--how much more the hearts of men! | ||
12 | 亵慢人不爱受责备。他也不就近智慧人。 A mocker resents correction; he will not consult the wise. | ||
13 | 心中喜乐,面带笑容。心里忧愁,灵被损伤。 A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit. | ||
14 | 聪明人心求知识。愚昧人口吃愚昧。 The discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly. | ||
15 | 困苦人的日子,都是愁苦。心中欢畅的,常享丰筵。 All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast. | ||
16 | 少有财宝,敬畏耶和华,强如多有财宝,烦乱不安。 Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great wealth with turmoil. | ||
17 | 吃素菜,彼此相爱,强如吃肥牛,彼此相恨。 Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred. | ||
18 | 暴怒的人,挑启争端。忍怒的人,止息分争。 A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel. | ||
19 | 懒惰人的道,像荆棘的篱笆。正直人的路,是平坦的大道。 The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway. | ||
20 | 智慧子使父亲喜乐。愚昧人藐视母亲。 A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother. | ||
21 | 无知的人,以愚妄为乐。聪明的人,按正直而行。 Folly delights a man who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding keeps a straight course. | ||
22 | 不先商议,所谋无效。谋士众多,所谋乃成。 Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. | ||
23 | 口善应对,自觉喜乐。话合其时,何等美好。 A man finds joy in giving an apt reply--and how good is a timely word! | ||
24 | 智慧人从生命的道上升,使他远离在下的阴间。 The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him from going down to the grave. | ||
25 | 耶和华必拆毁骄傲人的家。却要立定寡妇的地界。 The LORD tears down the proud man's house but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact. | ||
26 | 恶谋为耶和华所憎恶。良言乃为纯净。 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but those of the pure are pleasing to him. | ||
27 | 贪恋财利的,扰害己家。恨恶贿赂的,必得存活。 A greedy man brings trouble to his family, but he who hates bribes will live. | ||
28 | 义人的心,思量如何回答。恶人的口,吐出恶言。 The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil. | ||
29 | 耶和华远离恶人。却听义人的祷告。 The LORD is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous. | ||
30 | 眼有光使心喜乐。好信息使骨滋润。 A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones. | ||
31 | 听从生命责备的,必常在智慧人中。 He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise. | ||
32 | 弃绝管教的,轻看自己的生命。听从责备的,却得智慧。 He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding. | ||
33 | 敬畏耶和华,是智慧的训诲。尊荣以前,必有谦卑。 The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor. |
