Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni and Haahashtari. These were the descendants of Naarah. |
7 希拉的兒子是洗列、瑣轄、伊提南。
The sons of Helah: Zereth, Zohar, Ethnan, |
8 哥斯生亞諾、瑣比巴、並哈崙兒子亞哈黑的諸族。
and Koz, who was the father of Anub and Hazzobebah and of the clans of Aharhel son of Harum. |
9 雅比斯比他眾弟兄更尊貴、他母親給他起名叫雅比斯、意思說、我生他甚是痛苦。
Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, "I gave birth to him in pain." |
10 雅比斯求告以色列的 神說、甚願你賜福與我、擴張我的境界、常與我同在、保佑我不遭患難、不受艱苦． 神就應允他所求的。
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request. |
11 書哈的弟兄基綠生米黑、米黑是伊施屯之祖。
Kelub, Shuhah's brother, was the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton. |
12 伊施屯生伯拉巴、巴西亞、並珥拿轄之祖提欣拿、這都是利迦人。
Eshton was the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash. These were the men of Recah. |
13 基納斯的兒子是俄陀聶、西萊雅。俄陀聶的兒子是哈塔。

14 憫挪太生俄弗拉．西萊雅生革夏納欣人之祖約押．他們都是匠人。
Meonothai was the father of Ophrah. Seraiah was the father of Joab, the father of Ge Harashim. It was called this because its people were craftsmen. |
15 耶孚尼的兒子是迦勒、迦勒的兒子是以路、以拉、拿安．以拉的兒子是基納斯。
The sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah and Naam. The son of Elah: Kenaz. |
16 耶哈利勒的兒子是西弗、西法、提利、亞撒列。
The sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria and Asarel. |
17 以斯拉的兒子是益帖、米列、以弗、雅倫．米列娶法老女兒比提雅為妻、生米利暗、沙買、和以實提摩之祖益巴．米列又娶猶大女子為妻、生基多之祖雅列、梭哥之祖希伯、和撒挪亞之祖耶古鐵。
The sons of Ezrah: Jether, Mered, Epher and Jalon. One of Mered's wives gave birth to Miriam, Shammai and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa. |

Shallum was Shaul's son, Mibsam his son and Mishma his son. |
26 米施瑪的兒子是哈母利、哈母利的兒子是撒刻、撒刻的兒子是示每。
The descendants of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son and Shimei his son. |
27 示每有十六個兒子、六個女兒、他弟兄的兒女不多、他們各家不如猶大族的人丁增多。
Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters, but his brothers did not have many children; so their entire clan did not become as numerous as the people of Judah. |

They lived in Beersheba, Moladah, Hazar Shual, |
29 辟拉、以森、陀臘、
Bilhah, Ezem, Tolad, |
30 彼土利、何珥瑪、洗革拉、
Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag, |
31 伯瑪嘉博、哈薩蘇撒、伯比利、沙拉音、這些城邑直到大衛作王的時候、都是屬西緬人的。
Beth Marcaboth, Hazar Susim, Beth Biri and Shaaraim. These were their towns until the reign of David. |
32 他們的五個城邑是以坦、亞因、臨門、陀健、亞珊。
Their surrounding villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Token and Ashan--five towns-- |
33 還有屬城的鄉村、直到巴力．這是他們的住處、他們都有家譜。
and all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath. These were their settlements. And they kept a genealogical record. |
34 還有米所巴、雅米勒、亞瑪謝的兒子約沙、
Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah son of Amaziah, |
35 約珥、約示比的兒子耶戶．約示比是西萊雅的兒子、西萊雅是亞薛的兒子。
Joel, Jehu son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel, |
36 還有以利約乃、雅哥巴、約朔海、亞帥雅、亞底業、耶西篾、比拿雅。
also Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah, |
37 示非的兒子細撒．示非是亞龍的兒子、亞龍是耶大雅的兒子、耶大雅是申利的兒子、申利是示瑪雅的兒子。
and Ziza son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah. |
38 以上所記的人名、都是作族長的、他們宗族的人數增多。
The men listed above by name were leaders of their clans. Their families increased greatly, |
39 他們往平原東邊基多口去、尋找牧放羊群的草場、
and they went to the outskirts of Gedor to the east of the valley in search of pasture for their flocks. |
40 尋得肥美的草場地又寬闊、又平靜．從前住那裡的是含族的人。
They found rich, good pasture, and the land was spacious, peaceful and quiet. Some Hamites had lived there formerly. |
41 以上錄名的人、在猶大王希西家年間、來攻擊含族人的帳棚、和那裡所有的米烏尼人、將他們滅盡、就住在他們的地方、直到今日、因為那裡有草場可以牧放羊群。
The men whose names were listed came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. They attacked the Hamites in their dwellings and also the Meunites who were there and completely destroyed them, as is evident to this day. Then they settled in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks. |

And five hundred of these Simeonites, led by Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, invaded the hill country of Seir. |
