申命記

第 24 章

1. 人若娶妻以後、見他有甚麼不合理的事、不喜悅他、就可以寫休書交在他手中、打發他離開夫家。
If a man marries a woman who becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house,
2. 婦人離開夫家以後、可以去嫁別人。
and if after she leaves his house she becomes the wife of another man,
3. 後夫若恨惡他、寫休書交在他手中、打發他離開夫家、或是娶他為妻的後夫死了、
and her second husband dislikes her and writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, or if he dies,
4. 打發他去的前夫、不可在婦人玷污之後再娶他為妻、因為這是耶和華所憎惡的.不可使耶和華你 神所賜為業之地被玷污了。
then her first husband, who divorced her, is not allowed to marry her again after she has been defiled. That would be detestable in the eyes of the LORD. Do not bring sin upon the land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.
5. 新娶妻之人、不可從軍出征、也不可託他辦理甚麼公事、可以在家清閒一年、使他所娶的妻快活。
If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring happiness to the wife he has married.
6. 不可拿人的全盤磨石、或是上磨石作當頭、因為這是拿人的命作當頭。
Do not take a pair of millstones--not even the upper one--as security for a debt, because that would be taking a man's livelihood as security.
7. 若遇見人拐帶以色列中的一個弟兄、當奴才待他、或是賣了他、那拐帶人的、就必治死.這樣、便將那惡從你們中間除掉。
If a man is caught kidnapping one of his brother Israelites and treats him as a slave or sells him, the kidnapper must die. You must purge the evil from among you.
8. 在大痲瘋的災病上、你們要謹慎、照祭司利未人一切所指教你們的、留意遵行、我怎樣吩咐他們、你們要怎樣遵行。
In cases of leprous diseases be very careful to do exactly as the priests, who are Levites, instruct you. You must follow carefully what I have commanded them.
9. 當記念出埃及後、在路上耶和華你 神向米利暗所行的事。
Remember what the LORD your God did to Miriam along the way after you came out of Egypt.
10. 你借給鄰舍不拘是甚麼、不可進他家拿他的當頭.
When you make a loan of any kind to your neighbor, do not go into his house to get what he is offering as a pledge.
11. 要站在外面、等那向你借貸的人把當頭拿出來、交給你。
Stay outside and let the man to whom you are making the loan bring the pledge out to you.
12. 他若是窮人、你不可留他的當頭過夜。
If the man is poor, do not go to sleep with his pledge in your possession.
13. 日落的時候、總要把當頭還他、使他用那件衣服蓋著睡覺、他就為你祝福.這在耶和華你 神面前就是你的義了。
Return his cloak to him by sunset so that he may sleep in it. Then he will thank you, and it will be regarded as a righteous act in the sight of the LORD your God.
14. 困苦窮乏的雇工、無論是你的弟兄、或是在你城裡寄居的、你不可欺負他。
Do not take advantage of a hired man who is poor and needy, whether he is a brother Israelite or an alien living in one of your towns.
15. 要當日給他工價、不可等到日落、因為他窮苦、把心放在工價上、恐怕他因你求告耶和華、罪便歸你了。
Pay him his wages each day before sunset, because he is poor and is counting on it. Otherwise he may cry to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
16. 不可因子殺父、也不可因父殺子.凡被殺的都為本身的罪。
Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sin.
17. 你不可向寄居的和孤兒、屈枉正直、也不可拿寡婦的衣裳作當頭。
Do not deprive the alien or the fatherless of justice, or take the cloak of the widow as a pledge.
18. 要記念你在埃及作過奴僕、耶和華你的 神從那裡將你救贖、所以我吩咐你這樣行。
Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and the LORD your God redeemed you from there. That is why I command you to do this.
19. 你在田間收割莊稼、若忘下一捆、不可回去再取、要留給寄居的、與孤兒寡婦、這樣、耶和華你 神必在你手裡所辦的一切事上、賜福與你。
When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
20. 你打橄欖樹、枝上剩下的不可再打、要留給寄居的、與孤兒寡婦。
When you beat the olives from your trees, do not go over the branches a second time. Leave what remains for the alien, the fatherless and the widow.
21. 你摘葡萄園的葡萄、所剩下的不可再摘、要留給寄居的、與孤兒寡婦。
When you harvest the grapes in your vineyard, do not go over the vines again. Leave what remains for the alien, the fatherless and the widow.
22. 你也要記念你在埃及地作過奴僕、所以我吩咐你這樣行。
Remember that you were slaves in Egypt. That is why I command you to do this.
