箴言

第 24 章

1. 你不要嫉妒恶人,也不要起意与他们相处。
Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company;
2. 因为他们的心,图谋强暴。他们的口谈论奸恶。
for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble.
3. 房屋因智慧建造,又因聪明立稳。
By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
4. 其中因知识充满各样美好宝贵的财物。
through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
5. 智慧人大有能力。有知识的人,力上加力。
A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength;
6. 你去打仗,要凭智谋。谋士众多,人便得胜。
for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers.
7. 智慧极高,非愚昧人所能及,所以在城门内,不敢开口。
Wisdom is too high for a fool; in the assembly at the gate he has nothing to say.
8. 设计作恶的,必称为奸人。
He who plots evil will be known as a schemer.
9. 愚妄人的思念,乃是罪恶。亵慢者为人所憎恶。
The schemes of folly are sin, and men detest a mocker.
10. 你在患难之日若胆怯,你的力量就微小。
If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!
11. 人被拉到死地,你要解救。人将被杀,你须拦阻。
Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
12. 你若说,这事我未曾知道。那衡量人心的,岂不明白吗?保守你命的,岂不知道吗?他岂不按各人所行的,报应各人吗?
If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?
13. 我儿,你要吃蜜,因为是好的。吃蜂房下滴的蜜,便觉甘甜。
Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.
14. 你心得了智慧,也必觉得如此。你若找着,至终必有善报。你的指望,也不至断绝。
Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.
15. 你这恶人,不要埋伏攻击义人的家。不要毁坏他安居之所。
Do not lie in wait like an outlaw against a righteous man's house, do not raid his dwelling place;
16. 因为义人虽七次跌倒,仍必兴起。恶人却被祸患倾倒。
for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again, but the wicked are brought down by calamity.
17. 你仇敌跌倒,你不要欢喜。他倾倒,你心不要快乐。
Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice,
18. 恐怕耶和华看见就不喜悦,将怒气从仇敌身上转过来。
or the LORD will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from him.
19. 不要为作恶的心怀不平。也不要嫉妒恶人。
Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of the wicked,
20. 因为恶人终不得善报。恶人的灯也必熄灭。
for the evil man has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
21. 我儿,你要敬畏耶和华与君王。不要与反覆无常的人结交。
Fear the LORD and the king, my son, and do not join with the rebellious,
22. 因为他们的灾难,必忽然而起。耶和华与君王所施行的毁灭,谁能知道呢?
for those two will send sudden destruction upon them, and who knows what calamities they can bring?
23. 以下也是智慧人的箴言。审判时看人情面,是不好的。
These also are sayings of the wise: To show partiality in judging is not good:
24. 对恶人说,你是义人的,这人万民必咒诅,列邦必憎恶。
Whoever says to the guilty, "You are innocent"--peoples will curse him and nations denounce him.
25. 责备恶人的,必得喜悦。美好的福,也必临到他。
But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them.
26. 应对正直的,犹如与人亲嘴。
An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
27. 你要在外头预备工料,在田间办理整齐,然后建造房屋。
Finish your outdoor work and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.
28. 不可无故作见证,陷害邻舍。也不可用嘴欺骗人。
Do not testify against your neighbor without cause, or use your lips to deceive.
29. 不可说,人怎样待我,我也怎样待他,我必照他所行的报复他。
Do not say, "I'll do to him as he has done to me; I'll pay that man back for what he did."
30. 我经过懒惰人的田地,无知人的葡萄园。
I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment;
31. 荆棘长满了地皮,刺草遮盖了田面,石墙也坍塌了。
thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.
32. 我看见就留心思想,我看着就领了训诲。
I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw:
33. 再睡片时,打盹片时,抱着手躺卧片时,
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest--
34. 你的贫穷,就必如强盗速来,你的缺乏,仿佛拿兵器的人来到。
and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.
