| | 1 | 這是耶和華你們 神所吩咐教訓你們的誡命、律例、典章、使你們在所要過去得為業的地上、遵行．
These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, | |
| | 2 | 好叫你和你子子孫孫、一生敬畏耶和華你的 神、謹守他的一切律例、誡命、就是我所吩咐你的、使你的日子得以長久。
so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. | |
| | 3 | 以色列阿、你要聽、要謹守遵行、使你可以在那流奶與蜜之地、得以享福、人數極其增多、正如耶和華你列祖的 神所應許你的。
Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you. | |
| | 4 | 以色列阿、你要聽．耶和華我們 神是獨一的主。
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. | |
| | 5 | 你要盡心、盡性、盡力、愛耶和華你的 神。
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. | |
| | 6 | 我今日所吩咐你的話、都要記在心上．
These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. | |
| | 7 | 也要殷勤教訓你的兒女、無論你坐在家裡、行在路上、躺下、起來、都要談論。
Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. | |
| | 8 | 也要繫在手上為記號、戴在額上為經文。
Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. | |
| | 9 | 又要寫在你房屋的門框上、並你的城門上。
Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. | |
| | 10 | 耶和華你的 神、領你進他向你列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、起誓應許給你的地．那裡有城邑、又大又美、非你所建造的．
When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you--a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, | |
| | 11 | 有房屋、裝滿各樣美物、非你所裝滿的．有鑿成的水井、非你所鑿成的．還有葡萄園、橄欖園、非你所栽種的、你喫了而且飽足．
houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant--then when you eat and are satisfied, | |
| | 12 | 那時你要謹慎、免得你忘記將你從埃及地為奴之家、領出來的耶和華。
be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. | |
| | 13 | 你要敬畏耶和華你的 神、事奉他、指著他的名起誓。
Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name. | |
| | 14 | 不可隨從別神、就是你們四圍國民的神．
Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; | |
| | 15 | 因為在你們中間的耶和華你 神、是忌邪的 神．惟恐耶和華你 神的怒氣向你發作、就把你從地上除滅。
for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land. | |
| | 16 | 你們不可試探耶和華你們的 神、像你們在瑪撒那樣試探他。
Do not test the LORD your God as you did at Massah. | |
| | 17 | 要留意遵守耶和華你們 神所吩咐的誡命、法度、律例。
Be sure to keep the commands of the LORD your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you. | |
| | 18 | 耶和華眼中看為正、看為善的、你都要遵行、使你可以享福、並可以進去、得耶和華向你列祖起誓應許的那美地．
Do what is right and good in the LORD'S sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers, | |
| | 19 | 照耶和華所說的、從你面前攆出你的一切仇敵。
thrusting out all your enemies before you, as the LORD said. | |
| | 20 | 日後、你的兒子問你說、耶和華我們 神吩咐你們的這些法度、律例、典章、是甚麼意思呢。
In the future, when your son asks you, "What is the meaning of the stipulations, decrees and laws the LORD our God has commanded you?" | |
| | 21 | 你就告訴你的兒子說、我們在埃及作過法老的奴僕、耶和華用大能的手、將我們從埃及領出來．
tell him: "We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand. | |
| | 22 | 在我們眼前、將重大可怕的神蹟、奇事、施行在埃及地、和法老並他全家的身上．
Before our eyes the LORD sent miraculous signs and wonders--great and terrible--upon Egypt and Pharaoh and his whole household. | |
| | 23 | 將我們從那裡領出來、要領我們進入他向我們列祖起誓應許之地、把這地賜給我們。
But he brought us out from there to bring us in and give us the land that he promised on oath to our forefathers. | |
| | 24 | 耶和華又吩咐我們遵行這一切律例、要敬畏耶和華我們的 神、使我們常得好處、蒙他保全我們的生命、像今日一樣。
The LORD commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the LORD our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today. | |
| | 25 | 我們若照耶和華我們 神所吩咐的一切誡命、謹守遵行、這就是我們的義了。
And if we are careful to obey all this law before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness." | |
